Robust and Secure Connection to Public Clouds

Atman Cloud Connect is a data transfer service that connects a customer’s systems to a public cloud service provider’s infrastructure over a secure connection with performance guaranteed by an SLA.

Atman Cloud Connect service is complementary to a hybrid cloud architecture when data transfer over public Internet fails to meet performance or security requirements.

Hybrid cloud – combines the idea of a private cloud, an environment that is isolated and provides cost predictability, with the benefits of scalability, flexibility and speed of deployment – features that characterize the public cloud.
Multicloud – an environment that uses the services of two or more public cloud providers in its architecture. The purpose of such a configuration can be to increase the capabilities of the environment, optimize IT costs or avoid dependence on a single cloud provider (so-called vendor lock-in).

Atman Cloud Connect provides dedicated access to resources across 150+ regions of the largest global public cloud providers including Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, SalesForce, Alibaba Cloud.

What you pay for and how

With Atman, you pay for only one parameter: bandwidth. You choose one of the available EVC (Ethernet Virtual Channel) bandwidth options between 50 Mbps and 100 Gbps. We set up each connection on a dedicated VLAN.

Note that your costs – in addition to your Atman subscription – include charges to the cloud provider: for maintaining the service port and for the actual traffic output from the cloud (known as egress).

Publicly available global cloud provider calculators, such as the AWS Calculator or the Azure Pricing Calculator, can help you estimate the total cost of ownership (TCO).

Flexible cloud connections

Each global cloud uses a different nomenclature, but Atman supports all possible variants of both dedicated and hosted connections.

The primary difference between the two is the bandwidth allowed by the cloud provider. Dedicated bandwidth is typically 1, 10, or 100 Gbps, while hosted bandwidth ranges from 50 Mbps to 10 Gbps.

Another differentiator is location. For dedicated links, the address of the specific data center housing the active equipment is provided. For hosted links, only the general computing region is specified.

Due to the dynamic development and direct presence of the regions of the largest computing clouds in Poland, Atman is able to establish connections practically on the spot. The same applies to the selection of nearby European regions (Frankfurt or Amsterdam).

Atman Google Connect – a special variant of Cloud Connect

Due to the Atman network’s direct contact with the Google Cloud network and our Google Cloud Interconnect Partner status, we offer the Atman Google Connect service. This is a Cloud Connect data transfer service established between the customer’s local IT systems and its resources in the Europe-Central2 (Poland) region of the Google Cloud Platform.

Atman Google Connect enables dedicated access to the resources of the europe-central2 GCP region from any location in Poland, i.e. from any company’s own server room or other commercial data center in our country. The condition is that this location can be connected to the europe-central2 GCP region via Atman’s nationwide fiber-optic transmission network.

Multicloud - all IT in multiple public clouds

Among the scenarios for full public cloud adoption, enterprises are increasingly considering basing the environment on the resources of not one, but multiple cloud platforms in parallel. This approach offers significant benefits:

High flexibility and scalability of computing resources
Reduced time to provision the required IT resources
Cost optimization through the ability to dynamically change the provider of a given service by continuously comparing competitive offers from cloud providers
No vendor lock-in, i.e. no dependence on a single provider

Ability to choose an offering tailored to the local market (any computing region)

For a multicloud solution to be efficient and fully secure, private telecommunications connectivity (completely separate from the Internet) between public clouds should be an integral part of its architecture. A well-scaled Atman Cloud Connect service provides you with a stable and efficient point-to-point transmission, but you still need a component responsible for exchanging traffic between clouds, such as a router.

Therefore, Atman provides you with a virtual device whose task is to symmetrically route packets leaving one cloud and going to another. It is recommended to scale the router appropriately (preferably with a spare) to avoid bottlenecks, as they limit the performance of transmitted traffic and thus reduce the efficiency of the final application.

The service is virtually unlimited in terms of both the choice of clouds and the performance of the router itself (measured in Gbps).
